Hi! I'm Alicia... a photographer, wife and mom who thrives on friendships and chips & salsa dates. Relationships are my jam and the Enneagram is my love language. You'll find me traveling, watching BravoTV, or talking about that one time I was on the Oprah show. Back in the day, I loved being a dance teacher and can still bust a move if you need a good laugh.

Alicia is the face and voice of Make It Happen Photography, and there's no doubt she was called to do this. When not behind the camera, I'm ready to help however I can... including carrying all the equipment, bags and bouquets!
I spend my non-wedding days running our Making Magic Happen Etsy Shop, going to all the latest movie premieres with our kids and adventuring with Alicia. Our passion for traveling and my childhood love of all things Disney and Star Wars has served our family in more ways than one.

The summer I turned 20, I met my soul mate at a concert.
A few months later, we fell in love while watching Fantasmic in Disneyland California. By the time the fireworks ended, we knew we were going to spend our lives together. Our chemistry was as sweet as cotton candy & Dole Whip. We spent endless hours talking, laughing, flirting, going on long road trips and dreaming up an amazing future together.
We’ve lived the real-life fairytale...
Matt surprised me with a trip to Disneyland to celebrate my 23rd birthday. As we ate our favorite treats and laughed through our favorite rides, I could tell Matt was nervous, but I had no idea my life was about to change forever. Just before the clock struck midnight, Matt got down on one knee by Snow White's Wishing Well and asked me to marry him. I cried, he cried, and the fairytale wedding planning began.

Matt will tell you there are no words for what he felt when the chapel doors opened and I was standing there in my wedding gown. His heart was pounding, his eyes welled up with tears, and he couldn't contain his sweet smile. As I walked down the aisle, I saw the overwhelming joy in those bluegreen eyes and nothing else mattered to me besides becoming his wife.

Then comes the baby in the baby carriage. Our adorable baby girl Natalie was born a year after our wedding. Her love for dance, dogs and music is unrivaled. Then came Jackson, a funny guy with a soccer obsession who is an expert at everything Star Wars. And our family was complete with our sweet Landon, a movie buff with an old soul and a dream to become a master Chef some day.
First comes love, then comes marriage...
From the moment my daughter was born, my dream was to ride in the Cinderella Glass Carriage with her. So there was no other option but to plan a Disney vow renewal, right?
The commitment Matt and I made a decade earlier was one we wanted to share with our children... vowing to raise them in a happy, thriving, and loving home. Sea Breeze Point at Disney World was the perfect place to make this come true.

To us, photographing your love story is not just a profession; it's a heartfelt commitment to preserve the experiences, connection, and love that make your story uniquely yours.
1. Keep the romance & intimacy alive. It's non-negotiable.
2. Forgive the little stuff. Give grace to your partner. It won't matter next year what you’re mad about today. Life goes by fast. Use your days for connection instead of resentment.
3. Be best friends. Go on road trips, build things together, go to your kids activities TOGETHER, even if it means leaving work early to ride together. Quality time is how friendships grow... especially the friendship in marriage.
4. Travel together. See new places close to home or far away. Sit at a table in a romantic restaurant until closing time, asking each other deep or silly random questions. There’s no reason you can't find one weekend alone together once every three to six months. Being too busy to make an effort with your partner is a choice, not a reason.
5. Love harder than you fight. Talk about issues, but put more passion into loving each other than fighting each other. Speak kindly about one another to family and friends. You can express frustration & hurt to your BFF without having to trash your marriage or your partner.
6. Ride in the glass carriage. What that really means is to do that extraordinary thing that makes life feel extra special. You'll share that memory together. Make it happen. Once you build a bucketful of unique memories together, they become a type of bonding glue during times of struggle.
7. Build a family. Whether you raise babies together or adopt a pet... creating bonds builds roots for you both to share for a lifetime. You’ll see your spouse in a new light when they become a loving parent to someone you adore.
8. Thank them. Be grateful. Tell them how much you appreciate them. Treat them how you want to be treated. Be affectionate.... physically, verbally, and emotionally.
9. Laugh together. Even in the hardest of times. Having a sense of humor about stuff you can't control is powerful. It gives you both a fresh perspective & a peaceful balance.
10. See number one. Intimacy & passion for one another is non-negotiable. Physically, mentally, emotionally. You’re responsible for this, not your spouse. Lead here & you’ll be surprised that your example can become the new norm.
